Wild About Cats® and Tull Fans

Ian and Tull fans have been tremendous supporters of this organization's critical work in the conservation of wild cats species. Including last year's reception, proceeds from items sold from this website, among other Tull-related fundraisers, Tull fans have raised over $18,000 in the last two years!

Check out details about the previous "Soundcheck" event for Wild About Cats®.

Wild About Cats® Fundraiser Nets Over $15,000

Andean Mountain CatMany thanks to all the Tull fans who attended the recent fundraiser performance in San Francisco. Over $15,000 was raised for Wild About Cats.

Funds will go directly to the Andean Mountain Cat projects in four countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, Chile. It was an awesome event, much more intimate than last year as it was in a home and Ian was with everyone for the duration of the night. He brought kazoos and several people in front got to do their own versions during the song (think it was Locomotive Breath) and house owner must have been practicing or taken kazoo in college because he wailed!

The pet dog joined in with Ian at the begining of the first song, Ian quiped he didn't know he spoke "dog." Awesome food which was passed around my volunteers all night. The whole band came and donated their time too, along with the sound guy and I think a couple roadies, so it wasn't just the little acoustic set like last year, it was a full on show.

Below are a couple of photos from the show. Video and audio clips will likely be added soon.

The Cause

Wild About Cats is dedicated to providing responsible homes for captive-bred wild felines, and promoting preservation of habitat for their wild-born cousins; with a strong emphasis on the philosophy that education is the key that will produce results for both.

Ian Anderson, respected cat conservationist Charles Knowles, have funded some early research work on the Andean Mountain Cat through Dawn Simas and her organization, Wild About Cats. Jethro Tull fans have also made generous donations to this cause in the past, including a previous reception and the continuing Amazon® commission donations from Tull website sales.
