Solo Albums

Ian Anderson and Martin Barre have cut their own solo albums over the years. Ian's have been extremely diverse -- from the electronic '80's influenced "Walk into Light," the instrumental classicial/new age "Divinities," and two heavily acoustical albums, the critically acclaimed "The Secret Language of Birds" and "Rupi's Dance."

Martin's stress his electric guitar prowess and are heavily instrumental: "A Trick of Memory," "The Meeting," and the latest, and perhaps best, disc "Stage Left."

The Secret Language of Birds (2000)

The Secret Langiage of Birds cover

After issuing two albums that might not be what you would expect from an Anderson solo album in terms of style, in 2000 Ian penned "Secret Language of Birds" (SLOB as fans like to say) with an acoustical focus. The result was the strongest album, Tull or solo, in years reaping major critical acclaim. For fans who adore the usual couple of Ian's acoustical songs from Tull discs, SLOB is a must have.
Rupi's Dance (2003)
Living with the Past DVD cover "Rupi's Dance" followed "Secret Language" with more wonderful acoustical numbers and yet more raving, positive critical reviews. Listen to song samples and Ian's comments on each tune.

Stage Left (2003)
Stage Left
